We have experimented with solar power with our Technik kit. We used very small solar cells to power the pump and fan. Solar cell technology is developing quickly but not quick enough for some people. The chemicals that make up the solar cell can be expensive and it is important to make them as efficient as possible. Efficiency is a measurement of how much of the Sun's energy that strikes the solar cell is actually changed to electricity.
New solar cells are being developed that are more efficient than ever. They even have thin films that you can roll up. One company is working on a paint that you can spray on a surface to work on a solar cell. The thinner a solar cell, though, the lmore efficient it has to be and the more the material will cost. Its easy to make thicker cheaper cells, but to get good efficiency and thiness requires some expensive chemicals in the cells.
The good news is that as more and more people make solar cells the cost of making them come down. Improved methods of manufacture and market competition cause prices to go lower. The lower the prices the more people buy solar cells. The more people buy solar cells the more companies will make.

soalar power is ok but i cant get the first one to work its hard bit next week i might get it to work or ot but i will work hard to fix.
They are used to power houses.they are sometimes usedin cars.They need sunlight.They can not work in the dark.
